Technical Report Writer

This placement is concerned with the provision of technical report writing and administration services to support field based engineers employed in building risk management. The role is to ensure the efficient and effective completion of work associated with individual contracts to deliver high quality and excellent customer service and therefore have a direct impact on the reputation and growth potential of the company. The successful candidate will have responsibilities and duties to include:

• Interpretation of site data sheets and production of technical risk assessment reports to meet the requirements of ACOP L8
• Printing, binding and sending report (or CDs) to clients with a covering letter
• Production of schematic drawings
• Design & production of monitoring programmes and logbooks
• Logbook renewals and annual reports including updating site risk level
• Dealing with queries / issues / associated with the risk assessment services
• Analysis of water sample results and recording of results onto the sample log sheet
• Full training will be provided for the successful candidate
• Hours of work 9.00am – 5.00pm, Mon – Fri.

Essential requirements:

• Excellent written & spoken English.
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Organised and detail conscious
• Methodical & analytical
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Friendly, approachable and assertive
• Self motivated - confident & able to work independently when required

Desirable attributes:

• Experience of report writing
• Experience of administration
• Previous experience in a similar role or environment will be an advantage

Company activity:

• The Company are independent building risk management consultants specialising in assisting organisations in the prevention and control of the risks from fire, asbestos and waterborne pathogens including those responsible for causing Legionnaires' disease. In addition, they supply a range of building management and monitoring services including LEV testing and pest control.
• They cover the whole of the UK.
• They have a team of dedicated professionals with a wealth of experience in the risk management industry.
• Contract managers, risk assessors, site engineers and monitoring technicians are assigned to clients on a long term basis to allow them to gain a working knowledge of the site and so provide a personal service with consistent quality

Location:

• The role will be based in the historic and picturesque town of Bury St Edmunds. The town lies in the west of the county of Suffolk, in the region of East Anglia.
• Bury St Edmunds sits in the centre of the triangle created by the cities of Norwich, Ipswich and Cambridge.
• There are many local attractions; there is a wealth of cultural sites that are easily accessible along with a vibrant social scene.
• Stansted & Norwich airports are both 1 hour by road. London is approximately 1hr 45mins by rail.

Remuneration details:

• A training allowance of £800 per month will be provided to assist with accommodation and subsistence costs.

This remuneration package is not negotiable under ANY circumstances.
