General Summary:

Do you take pride in customer service excellence and fancy yourself as an entrepreneur? We seek a highly a motivated individual with experience and fanatical passion for women’s health/empowerment, blogging, micro-blogging and community participation leadership.

We are the first and only Women’s Health Information Sharing Website/Blog and Social Community!  We promote our website through integrated organic optimization (SEO), social media optimization (SMO) and community networking/relationship building.

The successful candidate will join our internship team as a Community Manager/Blogger and will oversee and contribute recurrent content to holistically support our members and company objectives.

This internship will afford the selected intern an opportunity to develop new skill sets in a phenomenal learning environment with a core focus on Women/Community Health in an entrepreneurial environment.

The Intern(s) will report directly to the Founder/CEO.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be the eyes and ears of our brand and maintain company objectives as if your own reputation depended on it.
• Build and maintain our content distribution network by way of social media channels and blogging.
• Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding our brand, report to appropriate parties.
• Create content for feeds and snippets in various social media sites.
• Create new content for our site, which directly relate to our company objectives and overall mission.
• Maintain multiple blogs which generate new and ‘best of’ content on a daily basis.
• Conduct keyword research and target keyword phrases.
• Participate in social media, as yourself and through pre-developed blogs, on our behalf.
• Optimize tags on our feeds, share sites like YouTube/Flickr that relate directly to our company objectives and utilize creative/keyword optimization & buzz pocket mining.
• Tag and title content, with an understanding of how the word’s chosen impact natural search traffic and rankings via recurrent optimized content.
• Manage and track link-building campaigns, coordinated with all facets of our company.
• Create and update monthly reports.
• Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns.
• Attend networking events and conduct local interviews.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 
  

Requirements:

• Undergraduate Senior or Graduate student currently enrolled in a Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Web Development, Digital Media, Dietetics, Health Education program or a related field of study.
• Possess baseline knowledge and demonstrate a vested interest in and passion for Healthy Living, Women Empowerment, and our great city of Chicago!
• Excel at research, possesses excellent writing skills and the ability to crank editorial and technical writing output without brooding.
• Hands-on work experience, training, and/or education in online marketing or similar field.
• Dedicated to blogging and use of Facebook/Twitter.
• Understand the power of feed marketing.
• Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media.
• Demonstrated ability to map out a marketing strategy and then drive that strategy, proven by testing and metrics.
• Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
• Ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, and demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
• Discretion to identify threats and opportunities in user generated content.
• Understand social media universe including YouTube, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, Reddit, Flickr, Forums, Twitter, Wikis, Blogs, etc…Looking for a social media addict who maintains a personal mix of participatory expertise from among these channels.
• Knowledge of search engine optimization (including basic keyword research, in order to name/tag our posts based on research).
• Possesses functional knowledge or some experience with HTML/CSS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
• Is eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
• Bring to the position outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Ability to communicate results to management and in a fast paced environment.
• Drive, Energy, Creativity and an Entrepreneurial Spirit.
• Must possess a high level of discretion and sensitivity to confidential information.
