Technical Assistant
This will be an interesting and rewarding learning opportunity for a student of Agricultural Sciences. This international exporter of agricultural and public health chemicals is looking for a placement student to work alongside and assist the Registrations Manager. Tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Preparing technical dossiers for registration of agricultural and public health chemicals in various countries worldwide.
- Upkeep of technical databases
- Translation of technical documents English/French
- Hours of work 9am -5pm Monday to Thursday; 9am -3pm Friday
Essential requirements:
- Fluent English – written & spoken
- Fluent French – written & spoken
- Studying an Agricultural Sciences degree course
- Good communication skills
- High level of accuracy
- Detail orientated
- IT literate
Desirable attributes:
Knowledge of Farming/Agricultural practice
Spanish language skills will be useful though not essential

Founded in 1979, this is an independent, privately owned company that specialises in the export of chemical products for use in Agriculture, Public Health and Veterinary Hygiene. Their speciality is the supply of insecticides for all applications.
Their insecticides and other products safeguard the health of crops, humans and animals. Their packing and formulation protect the environment.
They offer both technical pesticides and ready-formulated and packed products including own label. They search the world for raw materials to ensure our products are competitively priced.
Manufacture of the formulated product in the United Kingdom ensures that all their products are produced to a high standard. Their factory is quality assured to ISO 9002 and they have registration files available for the majority of their products. They also sub-contract the formulation of products to factories in UK.
The Company is a leading exporter of pesticides, winning the prestigious Queen's Award for Export Achievement in 1985. They export to over 70 countries.
Registrations are required in each country before sales can commence and position would involve the preparation of these and the upkeep of our chemical databases.
Location:
Based in Poynton, Cheshire (approx 15 miles from Manchester). Large village, about one mile from Poynton railway station and close to Stockport. Train lines run to Manchester and Macclesfield. On bus route from Manchester/Stockport.
Stockport offers a wider range of amenities while Manchester offers all the facilities that you would expect of a major UK city.
Manchester International Airport is close by.
Remuneration details:
A training allowance of £830 per month will be provided to assist with accommodation and subsistence costs.
This remuneration package is not negotiable under ANY circumstances.
