Strategic Marketing Assistant

An opportunity has arisen for a twelve-month Industrial Placement within the Crop Protection Division at this leading chemical company. This position is anticipated to commence in August/September 2008 and will provide the successful candidate with valuable insight into the day-to-day running of a busy and professional Business Services Department; Market Approach Strategy, supporting both Marketing and Sales colleagues.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Customer Value Analysis – Strategic review of customer performance
• Market Intelligence support & communication
• Market research analysis & support to Market Officer & Market Approach Strategies Manager
• Assistance in Marketing & Sales support initiatives
• Review of Customer Relationship Management tool to bring added-value to departments
• Price Management Centre project & implementation into Ireland
• This placement is an excellent opportunity for a student who wishes to experience a variety of different aspects of Marketing and is willing to involve themselves in various project areas.

Essential requirements:

• Fluent English both written and spoken
• PC Skills – it is essential that the successful candidate has Microsoft Office skills (in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) and good Internet experience.
• Should be working towards a Bachelor in Marketing or Marketing Communications degree
• Excellent interpersonal communication and team working are critical to the success of this role
• Good organisational skills are also essential for successful performance

Desirable attributes:

Experience in Lotus Notes (Email) would be an advantage
Previous experience in a similar role or environment

Cheadle is a small town in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in Greater Manchester. Cheadle benefits from excellent commuter links, with easy access to both the M60 Manchester Orbital Motorway and M56 motorway. Cheadle is 11 km (7 miles) from Manchester City Centre. Cheadle is also close to Manchester Airport and Stockport mainline railway station with fast trains to London.

Remuneration details:

A training salary of £13,000 a year will be provided to assist with accommodation and subsistence costs. This remuneration package is not negotiable under ANY circumstances.
