Office Administration at a Language School, Brighton

 

We are a forward thinking, dynamic, international language training company based in the beautiful and cultural city of Brighton in the south east of England. 
 
We have a professional and friendly team of around thirty people who work from offices in the centre of town, close to The Pavilion and the seafront.  
 
We are a very busy company and our customers can be from anywhere in the world so 
an ability to communicate with people from many different cultures and backgrounds is 
essential. Applicants should be keen to learn, flexible and willing to offer a high level of 
customer service.  
 
We specialise in all kinds of language training options, including language courses / 
holidays abroad, teacher training courses, foreign language evening courses, tailor-made 
lessons for individuals and companies… 
 
Our usual working day is 9am to 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm 
Fridays, with a lunch break.  
 
Key training fields: 
• Picking up company phone calls and direct them through to relevant person 
• Training on admin duties such as processing applications and payments, entering 
details into and updating databases 
• Answering enquiries from clients and course providers, both by email and on the 
phone  
• Mailings, office organization and general office duties 
• As well as some marketing/promotion, internet research etc 
• From time to time attendance at industry fairs and events in invited to help give 
information to the public about Cactus services 
• Flexible to assist with other areas of the company if required 
Good spoken and written English as well as an excellent phone manner are essential, 
and one other European language is preferable.  
 
Minimum 3 months. 
 
For internships over 12 weeks, we make a small contribution to living costs: 
 
1-12 weeks   No payment 
 
13-24 weeks    
• £200 per calendar month for the first 13 weeks 
• £385 per calendar month for the remaining weeks 
• Free 10-week evening language course 
• Discounted English language courses for non-native speakers 
• Pro-rata holiday allowance 
 
25-48 weeks    
• £200 per calendar month for the first 13 weeks 
• £385 per calendar month for the remaining weeks 
• Free language holiday (language holiday not in addition to other holiday) Intern covers cost of accommodation and flights 
• Discounted English language courses for non-native speakers  
• Pro-rata holiday allowance
